There are so many activities to do in Chiang Mai. Here are some excitements: elephant riding, rafting, Mae Ping river cruising, sky riding, ice skating, bowling, Thai massage, Thai cooking class, spa, and etc. Jungle Treks Most popularly originating from Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai, these 1-6 day treks take visitors through forested mountains and high meadows in what are, actually, the lower extremities of Himalayan foothills. Major attractions are remote hilltribe villages. Mountains surrounding Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai host seven major, once-itinerant hill tribes of Tibeto- Burman origin the Meo, Lisu, Lahu, Yao, Akha, Lawa and Karen. Each have distinctive dialects, costumes and customs. Elephant Riding This activity is available at most elephant camps around Chiang Mai. Most camps provide elephant shows and elephant riding. You can contact either the camp directly or travel agents for more information. Rafting Many elephant camps also provide bamboo rafting. However, if you want more challenging raft, Pai and Mae Chaem districts also provide a veteran raft. Thai Massage Release your stress with the traditional Thai massage.
